Fakhar Zaman Excluded Pakistan vs West Indies Test Series: Reason Here
In a big setback to Pakistan cricket plans, Fakhar Zaman, an experienced opener will miss the upcoming Test series against the West Indies. Due to his entertaining style and match-winning qualities, his loss is a question and concern to many fans and cricket analysts.
The main factor that resulted in the non-selection of Fakhar Zaman in the Test team was his fitness and current form. As per the reports of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the left-handed batter is yet to fully recover a knee injury that has been bothering him in the past few months. Although he has had rehabilitation, the medical experts have cautioned him against the physical requirements of red-ball cricket until he fully recovers. Moreover, Fakhar has not maintained a consistent performance in longer format of the game. Although he continues to be a force to reckon with in the limited overs format, not exactly a definite factor in the Test format, his figures are not yet convincing enough to make it to the playing eleven in this must win series. The selectors are said to be giving closer attention to players who have exhibited greater stability and flexibility in the traditional format and particularly under foreign conditions. Youngsters such as Abdullah Shafique and Imam-ul-Haq may open the batting with the team having a more balanced look. A series against the West Indies being a key part of the ICC World Test Championship cycle, Pakistan will be looking to play its best available side, with form and fitness taking precedence over reputation. The biggest blow to have occurred is the absence of Fakhar Zaman but it will provide opportunity to fresh talent to excel at the international stage. Fans wish Fakhar a complete recovery and hope he will start playing Pakistan with his vim and energy in all forms again.Post By: Aftab Ahmad
